About us

From building machines to automation: a natural evolution.

Dal Ben Automation S.r.l. grew out of Dal Ben S.p.A., a builder of complex machinery since 1987, to answer a market that asks for complete, integrated solutions. We design and build control systems: electrical cabinets, software, functional safety and data management.

The company

Control of machines and plants, from concept to acceptance.

We design electrical cabinets, control software, functional safety and production-data management for machines and process plants. We work with machine builders (OEMs) and end users.

What sets us apart is integration with the mechanics: through Dal Ben S.p.A. the supply can extend to mechanical design and manufacturing, with a single point of contact from the idea to final acceptance testing.

  • Specialised in PC-based automation, motion control and functional safety
  • The group's mechanical and manufacturing capacity when a project calls for it
  • One documented method, from functional specification to FAT/SAT commissioning

Our method

From specification to acceptance, every phase documented.

The same path on every order, from a single machine to a complete plant: the client knows at any moment what has been decided, what has been verified and against which criteria.

01

Functional specification

Requirements, functions and acceptance criteria written and agreed in the early stages of the project.

02

Design

Control architecture, electrical schematics, safety functions and interfaces with the mechanics.

03

Development

Structured, modular software, validated in simulation before it is downloaded to the controller.

04

FAT

Workshop testing of panel and software, against the criteria set in the specification.

05

Commissioning and SAT

Start-up, tuning and acceptance at the customer site, with complete documentation.

06

Support

Remote assistance, maintenance and upgrades handled by the people who designed the plant.

Our people

The people behind every project.

The people at Dal Ben Automation bring years of automation in demanding industrial companies. Dal Ben S.p.A. is both shareholder and client: it entrusts us with the automation of its own machines.

Technical lead

Elia Vidali

Automation engineer, leading the technical side of Dal Ben Automation. A graduate of the University of Padua, he brings over ten years of experience in demanding industrial settings, including Wärtsilä and Ferrari's Gestione Sportiva (its F1 division).

Mechanical integration

Mechanics and automation come from the same design.

When mechanics and automation are designed together, decisions are taken once and commissioning gets shorter. We work this way both on Dal Ben S.p.A. mechanics and on our clients' own.

  • Kinematics, actuation and instrumentation defined together with the mechanical design
  • Panels and cable routing coordinated with the machine envelope
  • Safety built into the design, not applied afterwards
  • A single FAT/SAT across mechanics, electrical system and control
