Born from two joined experiences: mechanics and automation.
Dal Ben S.p.A. brings 39 years of industrial mechanics, Elia Vidali brings automation engineering. One point of contact, from the machine to the control software.
Two companies with complementary expertise.
Dal Ben Automation does not start from scratch: it draws on the experience its partners have already built on machines and plants, across mechanical design and automation. That is the foundation.
Dal Ben S.p.A.
Dal Ben S.p.A. has designed and built complex machinery since 1987. From its site in San Stino di Livenza (Venice, Italy), with seven plants and over 150 technicians, it builds machines and systems for the steel, hydropower, defence and scientific-research sectors.
Alongside the mechanical work, it designs and integrates the electrical and automation systems of its own machines: for the CTAO observatory it built the control cabinets and the command and safety logic of the ASTRI telescopes.
Its management system is certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
Elia Vidali
Automation engineer, MSc from the University of Padua and a chartered professional. Technology-curious, more interested in where automation is heading than in where it already is.
Over ten years in structured industrial companies with demanding processes and standards — including Wärtsilä and Ferrari's Gestione Sportiva (its F1 division) — working on engineering-heavy automation: defining hardware and software standards, test benches, functional safety, process-data management and analysis. In recent years he has added team coordination and management to the technical work.
His areas: PC-based automation (Beckhoff TwinCAT), motion control, functional safety and production-data software. With Dal Ben Automation he brings this experience into a project built together with a mechanical industrial group, keeping design, control and data under one direction.
Dal Ben S.p.A.
Dal Ben S.p.A. has designed and built complex machinery since 1987. It is based in San Stino di Livenza, in the province of Venice, Italy, operating seven plants each specialised in a production phase, around 33,000 m² of covered surface and over 150 technicians. Its products are exported worldwide.
It builds machines and systems that sit at the core of the production or research process they are installed in: steel, hydropower, defence, astrophysics, scientific research and nuclear fusion. It covers the whole cycle — design with FEM analysis, steelwork in carbon steel, stainless steel and special alloys, precision machining of parts over 20 metres long and up to 50 tonnes, anti-corrosion treatments, assembly and testing with coordinate measuring machines and laser trackers, and a cleanroom for the most critical processes.
Dal Ben S.p.A. also designs and integrates the electrical and automation systems of its own machines and of third-party projects. For the CTAO (Cherenkov Telescope Array) observatory it built the power and control cabinets and the full command and safety logic of the ASTRI telescopes: Beckhoff TwinCAT PLC architecture, OPC UA communication, safety functions up to PL e / SIL 2, compliance with IEC/EN 60204-1 and EN 61439. It has comparable experience in steel-plant and hydropower automation.
Its management system is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with UNI/PdR 125 certification for gender equality; steelwork is certified to EN 1090 (EXC4) and welding to ISO 3834-2.
Dal Ben Automation exists to bring this expertise — together with Elia Vidali's — to the people who design and build machines.
Mechanics and automation under one direction.
In a plant, a good share of the problems arise at the boundary between mechanics, electrical and software. Keeping the two disciplines together means designing that boundary instead of suffering it: that is how you deliver complete systems.
- A single point of contact for both the mechanical side and automation
- From mechanical sizing to control software and data dashboarding
- No responsibility bouncing between different suppliers
- One method, from functional specification to FAT/SAT commissioning
A method, not just a quote.
We follow every project in full, from functional analysis to commissioning, with attention to functional safety and drive sizing from the start.
The method is structured and documented: functional specification, electrical design, software development, FAT/SAT commissioning. Every stage stays traceable and verifiable by the client.
Technical areas combined on every project.
Electrical & PLC engineering
Electrical schematics, control panels and PC-based automation on Beckhoff TwinCAT (and Siemens).
Functional safety
Risk assessment, PL/SIL calculation and safety function design per EN ISO 13849 and IEC 62061.
HMI & production data
Operator interfaces, process-data collection and analysis, line-KPI dashboards.
Our commitment to quality.
